About me
Dr. Ceyda Mumcu is a full professor and the department chair of Sport Management at the University of New Haven. She specializes in sport marketing and analytics, and her research focuses on topics such as consumer behavior in sports, fan engagement, and the use of data analytics in decision-making processes within the sport industry.
Dr. Mumcu is recognized for her work on the marketing of women’s sports and the study of female sports fans. Her current research centers on women sport bettors, exploring their experiences, behaviors, and how betting relates to their sport consumption and fandom. She has published in academic journals and collaborates on projects designed to enhance the marketing strategies of sport organizations.
A recipient of the Lough Award from the Sport Marketing Association for her contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion in sport marketing, she also had a professional basketball career in Turkey before transitioning to academia.
