Dr. Cherkasova is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Area of Behavioral Neuroscience, at West Virginia University, where she directs the Brain Behavior and Addiction laboratory. Her research is in the area of addiction neuroscience and focuses on psychological and neural underpinnings of addictive behaviors and disorders, including gambling and disordered gambling. Her key areas of focus include cue-reactivity, cost-benefit decision making, and non-invasive neuromodulation as treatment of addictive disorders. She has published over 40 papers and serves as an Associate Editor of the Canadian Journal of Addiction.
